Empowering underserved youth is at the heart of what we do at The COOP Concept. Each session is designed to offer real-world skills, foster communication, and inspire creativity. Our dedicated team leaders, Victoria and Kellie, work with our youth employees several times weekly on various engaging projects, creating a lasting impact.
Victoria and Kellie teach the COOP youth job readiness and entrepreneur skills, among many other essential skills that will prepare them for the real world. They work with the COOP youth on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Wednesdays at Kingston High School: Every Wednesday, our youth take the lead on organizing and restocking the Kingston High School Free Store. They learn and implement essential skills and responsibilities such as job readiness and entrepreneurship.

Mindful Tween Art Group on Fridays: On Fridays, the focus is on fostering creativity and emotional wellness through art. Our COOP youth explore various mediums, encouraging self-expression and mindfulness.
Saturday Sessions: Each Saturday, youth participants focus on product creation, marketing, and community outreach. Over the course of the winter months, we have been staying indoors and participants are working on producing leather and wine cork earrings, honing their craftsmanship and entrepreneurial skills.
They learned to assemble a leather-cutting machine, troubleshoot, and problem-solve when challenges arose. By experimenting with product photography, the COOP youth captured professional images of items like cups, hats, and birdhouses to promote on our website.
Through these activities, The COOP Concept continues to provide our local youth with empowering opportunities that enable them to learn, grow, and contribute to our local community.
